Acinetobacter Baumannii 'e Bağlı Gelişen Beyin Apsesi Olgusu

Year 2017, Volume: 14 Issue: 1, 81 - 86, 28.04.2017

Abstract

Tedavide parenteral sulbaktam (3x2 gr I.V.) ve kolistin (3x150
mg I.V.)'e ilaveten intratekal (1x10 mg) kolistin tedavisi uygulandı. Bu tedaviyle hasta iyileşti. Beyin

A Case Brain Abces due to Acinetobacter Baumannii

Year 2017, Volume: 14 Issue: 1, 81 - 86, 28.04.2017

Abstract

In this article, A 23-year-old female patient with menengitis and brain abces due to multy drug resistant
Acinetobacter baumannii presents who had been operated in the brain surgery department due to a
gunshot injury in her head. Intrathecal (1x10 mg) colistin treatment was performed in addition to sulbactam
(3x2 gr I.V.) and colistin (3x150 mg I.V.). The patient is treated with this treatment. Because of the high
mortality rates and limited treatment options of the brain abces due to the multy drug resistant
Acinetobacter baumannii after brain surgery, intrathecal colistin treatment should be kept in mind in
addition to parenteral treatment in these patients. I present this case because of the brain abces due to
Acinetobacter baumannii is rare.
