Year 2020, Volume: 1 Issue: 1, 24 - 29, 17.04.2020

Abstract

A new approach “Natural Cesarean Section” : Benefits for mother and baby

Year 2020, Volume: 1 Issue: 1, 24 - 29, 17.04.2020

Abstract

“Natural cesarean section” which is a mother-friendly and family-centered approach, is a method that mainly supports the mother-infant bonding and rapid onset of lactation and/or breastfeeding as a result of early skin contact.Anesthesia-surgical management in a multiparous term parturient delivered with “natural cesarean section” technique as a new approach was presented in order to provide a contribution to the experience of conventional cesarean delivery.
We observed that “natural cesarean section” under spinal anesthesia in our parturient has resulted in less anxiety than her previous births, and the support of early and long-term breastfeeding due to early skin contact and bonding by our multidisciplinary team approach.
