KÖPEKLERDE PERİODONTAL HASTALIKLAR

Abstract

Köpek bakımı konusunda yeni bilinçlenmeye başlamış olan ülkemizde, hayvan sahiplerinin köpeklerinin aşı ve beslenme konularında hassas oldukları fakat; ağız sağlığı ve hijyenine önem vermediklerinden dolayı bu durumla ilgili veteriner hekim kontrollerine gitmedikleri dikkati çekmektedir. Ayrıca; köpeklerinin periodontal problemlerini ve kötü nefes kokularını normal olarak kabul ettikleri ve acil müdahale gerekmedikçe diş sağlığı konusunda veteriner hekime başvurmadıkları görülmektedir. Bu derlemede, köpeklerde görülen periodontal hastalıkların nedenleri, tanı ve teşhis yöntemleri, klinik görünümleri, sağaltımı ve hastalığa karşı alınabilecek koruyucu önlemler hakkında bilgi verilmesi amaçlanmıştır.
