The purpose of this study was to determine the state - trait anxiety levels of women who were hospitalized for a woman 's disease and a maternity hospital due to therapeutic abortion. The personal information form consisting of 40 questions questioning the socio-demographic and obstetric characteristics of women in the collection of the research data and the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory developed by Spielberger et al. The mean state anxiety score of the women who were treated with therapeutic abortion was found to be 55.77 ± 9.62 while the mean anxiety point of continuous anxiety was found to be 48.11 ± 7.20.
There was also no statistically significant correlation between the STAI TX-I and II scores and the age of the subjects and their spouses (p> 0.05). However, there was a significant positive correlation between State anxiety score and Continuous anxiety score at 36.4% (p <0.01). In conclusion; women with therapeutic abortion had moderate anxiety, and state anxiety scores were higher than those of continuous anxiety. It was found that the socio-demographic characteristics of the study, the educational status, the anxiety level of the woman, the problem abortion during the pregnancy, and the anxiety level of the abortion.
