Abstract
Çalışmada, gönüllü faaliyetler ile ilgili dünya genelinde birçok ülkenin yer aldığı uluslararası gönüllülük araştırmaları ile ilgili bilgi vermek, Türkiye ve Amerika Birleşik Devletleri’ndeki gönüllülük faaliyetlerinin istatistiki göstergeler vasıtasıyla durumlarını tespit etmek amaçlanmıştır. Bu kapsamda, CAF Dünya Bağışçılık Endeksi, Dünya Değerler Araştırması, Johns Hopkins Karşılaştırmalı Kâr Amacı Gütmeyen Sektör Projesi, CIVICUS Sivil Toplum Endeksi ve Avrupa Komisyonu tarafından yapılan araştırma ile ilgili genel bilgi ve değerlendirmelere yer verilmiştir. Ayrıca, ABD Çalışma İstatistikleri Bürosundan ABD’ndeki gönüllü faaliyetlerle ilgili istatistiki veriler ile, Türkiye’de İstanbul Bilgi Üniversitesi Sivil Toplum Çalışmaları Merkezi ve İstanbul Bilgi Üniversitesi Göç Çalışmaları Uygulama ve Araştırma Merkezi tarafından yapılan gönüllü faaliyetlere katılımla ilgili araştırma ve sonuçları incelenmiştir. Buna ek olarak, uluslararası araştırmaların verileri kullanılarak Türkiye ve ABD’nin gönüllü faaliyetler ile ilgili durumu, istatistiki verilerle ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır.
Araştırmada ABD’nin seçilmesinin amacı, uluslararası düzeyde bu ülke ile ilgili verilerin çokluğu nedeni iledir.
