İÖ 73 YILI HALK TEMSİLCİSİ LICINIUS MACER’İN SÖYLEVİ

Öz

Romalı tarihçi Gaius Sallustius Crispus’un Historiae eseri aracılığıyla günümüze ulaşan söylev, İÖ 73 yılı halk temsilcisi Gaius Licinius Macer tarafından muhtemelen halk meclisinde verilmiştir ve Sulla’nın diktatörlüğü sırasında ortadan kaldırdığı halk temsilcilerinin yetkilerinin geri verilmesini amaçlamaktadır. Bu çalışmada söz konusu söylevin Oxford Classical Texts serisi içerisinde yer alan Latince metni temel alınarak Türkçe çevirisi sunulmuştur. Dönemin siyasal çekişmelerinde ve bu söylevde sıkça geçen kavramların hitabet sanatı ile bağlantısı vurgulandıktan sonra konuşmanın yapısı ve bölümleri Rhetorica ad Herennium eserinde yer alan siyasal retoriğe ilişkin kuramlar dikkate alınarak incelenmiştir. Yapılan karşılaştırma ile söylevin kurgusuna ve düzenine ilişkin öneriler sunulmuştur. Ek olarak söylevin Sallustius’un üslup özellikleriyle uyuşan yönleri de vurgulanmıştır.
