Treatment of segmental and multiple femoral diaphyseal fractures of cats via intramedullary pin and cerclage combination: 17 cases

In this study; results of the treatment of diaphyseal segmental and multiple femoral fractures of cats by using intramedullary pin and cerclage combination was evaluated clinically and radiologically. The material of the study was composed of 17 cats of various breed, age and sex with diaphyseal segmental or multiple femoral fractures. According to the postoperative clinical and radiological evaluations; the results were very good in 12 cases, good in 4 cases and average in 1 case. As a result; it was concluded that the use of intramedullery pin and cerclage combination in the treatment of diaphyseal segmental and multiple femoral fractures constitutes successful results

Kedilerde diyafizer segmental ve parçalı femur kırıklarının intrameduller pin ve serklaj kombinasyonuyla sağaltımı: 17 olgu
Öz
Bu çalışmada; kedilerin diyafizer segmental ve parçalı femur kırıklarının intrameduller pin ve serklaj kombinasyonları ile sağaltımının klinik ve radyolojik sonuçları değerlendirildi. Çalışma materyalini diyafizer segmental ya da parçalı femur kırığı bulunan değişik ırk, yaş ve cinsiyete sahip 17 kedi oluşturdu. Postoperatif olarak yapılan klinik ve radyolojik değerlendirmeler sonucunda; 12 olguda çok iyi, 4 olguda iyi, 1 olguda ise orta dereceli fonksiyonel iyileşme belirlendi. Sonuç olarak; intrameduller pin ve serklaj kombinasyonu ile kedilerin diyafizer segmental ve parçalı femur kırıklarının sağaltımında başarılı fonksiyonel iyileşme sağlanabileceği kanısına varıldı
