SOME HELMİNTH PARASİTES FROM THE CHUKAR PARTRİDGE, ALECTORİS GRAECA, OF TURKEY, VVITH NOTES ON THEİR LİFE HİSTORİES, PATHOGENİCİTY, AND CONTROL
Öz
From 1950 to 1952, a number of chukar partridges, Alectoris gra- were imported by the U. S. Fish and Wiİdlife Service into the United States from Turkey for release and subsepuent propagation. Whi- le stili in quarantine, 40 of these birds became ili and died. They were packed in ice and shipped to the then Pathological Division, Bureau of Animal Industry, Washington, D. C., for determination of the cause of death. They were later sent to the Zoological Division, B.A,I,, to be examined for parasites. One of us (EEW) promptly collected and preserved for future study and Identification several kinds of helminth and arthropod parasites from them.
