The first cases in Turkey on H. c. c. were observed eight years ago in
Ankara (I 5). Rcccntly the disease was again diagnosed on a four months and
six months old setter dogs at post - mortem examination.
Macroscopically, the visceral - and superficial lymph nodes were edematous, petechial hcmorrhages were present in the thymus, and mucous bran of the gaıı bladder. In addition the waıı of the gaıı bladder was ederr.atous.
The spleen was moderately enlarged.
The histologieal changes in the liver eonsisted of laeunar eetasia of the
sinusoids, eentro - lobuler neerosis and intranudear indusion bodies in the
liver eeııs, in the sinusoidal endothelial eeııs and Kupffer eeııs. Similar indusion
bodies were found in the retieulo endothelial eeııs of the spleen, and lymph
nodes; in the endothelial eeııs of the glomerular tufta, and in the eapillary
endothclium of the brain. Perivaseular euffing and eoııection of neuroglia
eells were noted partieularly in the meduııa oblongata.
An attempt to transmitt the disease with liver suspension of this ease was
made. Six puppies. were inoeulated subeutaneously, and intravenously (6).
Three out of Six showed mieroseopieally typical lesions of H. e. e.
