Abstract

In the study, different breed, age and gender 15 small animals, (4 cats and 11 dogs) with urinary tract problems were included. Diagnosis was made basis on urinary analysis, direct radiography, positive contrast cystography and ultrasonography. Urolits taken by hydropropulsion, cystotomy or urethrotomy were analyzed by X-Ray Diffraction and biochemical methods. Dietary and medical therapies were applied according to the determined urolith. Urine samples were taken on 15th, 30th, and 60th days and evaluated. Predominant urolith type in dogs was ureat (n=9, 60%). According to the urolith analysis dietary therapy prevents recurrence and biochemical and X-ray Diffraction methods were in correlation. Urolithiasis was more common in males than the females. The most commonly effected breed was Dalmatian
