Helmints of digestive and respiratory system of rabbits in Ankara and districts

Abstract

This study was undertaken to determine the helminths of digestive and respiratory system of domesticated and wild rabbits in Ankara and districts. For this purpose 102 domesticated and 8 wild of total 110 rabbits were examined through necropsy and 502 rabbits were examined through fecal examinations. According to necropsy results 11 of rabbits (10%) and fecal examinations 31 of rabbits (18%) were observed to be infected. It was found that Passalurus ambiguus 6.36%, Nematodirus leporis 2.73%, Trichostrongylus retortaeformis 2.73%, Trichuris sp. 1.82%, Dicrocoelium dendriticum 1.82% in necropsy and Strongyloides sp. eggs 5.18%, P. ambiguus eggs 0.99% in fecal examinations. In this study, 6 different helminths were determined. In addition to these, Linguatula serrata nymph was found in the lung of one rabbit

Ankara ve civarında bulunan tavşanlarda solunum ve sindirim sistemi helmintlerinin yaygınlığı

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, Ankara ve çevresinde bulunan evcil ve yabani tavşanların sindirim ve solunum sistemi helmintlerinin tespiti amaçlanmıştır. Bunun için 102’si evcil, 8’i yabani olmak üzere toplam 110 tavşanın nekropsisi, 502 tavşanın da dışkı muayenesi yapılmıştır. Nekropsi yapılan tavşanların 11’i (% 10), dışkı muayenesi yapılan tavşanların da 31’i ( % 6.18) çeşitli helmint türleri ile enfekte bulunmuştur. Nekropsi bakılarında Passalurus ambiguus % 6.36, Nematodirus leporis % 2.73, Trichostrongylus retortaeformis % 2.73, Trichuris sp. % 1.82 ve Dicrocoelium dendriticum % 1.82 yaygın bulunurken; dışkı bakılarında Strongyloides sp. yumurtasına % 5.18, P. ambiguus yumurtasına da % 0.99 oranlarında rastlanmıştır. Böylece nekropsi ve dışkı bakıları sonucu çalışmada 6 farklı helmint türü saptanmıştır. Bunların dışında bir tavşanının akciğerinde Linguatula serrata nimfi bulunmuştur
