Süt ineklerinde 2-Hydroxy-4-(methylthio) butanoik asit izopropil esteri'nin süt verimi ve kompozisyonu üzerine etkileri

Year 2016, Volume: 63 Issue: 3, 311 - 315, 01.09.2016

Abstract

Effects of supplementation with 2-hydroxy-4-(methylthio)-butanoic acid isopropyl ester on milk yield and composition of lactating dairy cows

Year 2016, Volume: 63 Issue: 3, 311 - 315, 01.09.2016

Abstract

The main objective of this trial was to determine the efficacy of a methionine supplement, 2-hydroxy-4(methylthio)-butaonic acid’s isopropyl ester (HMBi), on milk yield and milk composition of dairy cow. Trial was carried for 8 weeks in Per Farm, Kızılcahamam-Ankara. Trial design includes 3 different groups (control, positive control and trial group) each containing 10 animals and totally 30 animals were used for this experiment. Animals in the control group were fed on a diet which is not supplemented with any methionine source. In the positive control group, animals were fed a diet which is incorporated with corn gluten in order to provide 330 g methionine per cow each day. Animals in the trial group were offered a diet which is fortified with 44 g HMBi for each cow per day. Neither milk yield nor milk composition (protein, lactose, fat, solids-not-fat, total solids) was not affected significantly by supplementation HMBi or corn gluten meal. The 4% fat-corrected milk and milk total solids of the cows in the gluten meal and HMBi supplemented groups were numerically higher than those of the cows in the control group (1.86 - 1.39 kg/d -188.32 - 70.66 g/d, respectively). Milk fat yield of the cows in the gluten meal and HMBi supplemented groups was numerically (111.56 - 98.71 g/d respectively) higher than those the control group. In conclusion, corn gluten meal or HMBi supplementation can numerically increase milk production
