plate agg!utination (RPA) test. serum aggluLİnation test (SAT), antiglobulin test (AGT), passive hemagglutination (PHA) test and
enzymc linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), 46 (33.8%), 44 (32.4%), 31 (22.8%). 28 (20.5°k) and) 8 (13.2%) of 136 sera from
infenile mares were found to be positive. respectively, Whereas, 7 (6.1 %), 6 (5.3°",,), 4 (3.5%), 3 (2.6%) and i (O.9°/rI) of i 14 sera
from fertile IT.ares were positive'in the same tests. The existence of the disease was determined serologically in Turkey. The results
ındıcaıed thaı baeteriological investigation alone was not enough for the diagnosis of the infeetion and it was necessary to use
serologic test~;to deteet this infection.
