Clinoptilolite Application in Left and Right Abomasal Displacement

Abstract

Five Holstein cows with left displacement of the abomasum (LDA) and 2
other with right displacement of the abomasum (RDA) were submitted to the
hospital facility at Adnan Menderes University, Faculty of Veterinary, Large
Animal Unit or were detected at field conditions (by the referring
veterinarians under the supervision of the study researchers) from 2013 to 2017
were treated with 1 gr/kg peroral clinoptilolite (93%). Prior to clinoptilolite
administration and deciding the probability of its usage in cows, inspection,
adspection, through clinical and laboratory evaluation (involving blood-gas
analysis) were deemed available. There was no culling at the end of trial, with
complete survival rate accompanied by all returned to good production
post-treatment. As informed by the owners 6 out of 7 were pregnant six to 8
months after clinoptilolite administration.

Abomazumun Sola ve Sağa Deplasmanlarında Klinoptilolit Uygulaması

Menderes Üniversitesi, Veteriner Fakültesi, Büyük Hayvan Kliniğine 2013-2017
tarihlerinde getirilen ya da saha koşullarındaki (araştırmacıların gözetiminde,
sahadaki veteriner hekimler tarafından sunulan) sol abomazum deplasmanlı (LDA)
5 ve sağ abomazum deplasmanlı (RDA) 2 inekte 1 g/kg dozda oral klinoptilolit
(%93) ile sağaltım gerçekleştirildi. Uygulanma öncesinde klinoptilolit
kullanılabilirliğinin uygun olduğu belirlenen ineklerde inspeksiyon,
adspeksiyon, kan gazı analizlerini içeren klinik ve laboratuvar muayene
gerçekleştirildi. Çalışma sonunda tüm olgularda iyileşme sağlandı ve sürüden
uzaklaştırılması gereken hayvan olmadı. Hasta sahiplerinden alınan bilgilere
göre klinoptilolit uygulamasından 8 hafta sonrasında 7 inekten 6’ sının gebe
kaldığı öğrenildi.
