Sununary: Curative treatment was carried out on LOlambs affected with delayed
Form of Enzootic ataxia seen in Cihanbeyli district of Konya province.
Each affectcd lambs showing clinical symptoms of copper deficiency were injectcd
with 80 mg. CuSO •. 5 Hz O (20.36 mg. copper) and 100 unite of hyaluronidase dissolved
in 2 ml of 0.9 % saline solution subcutaneously. All the treated lambs partiaııy respond to
the treatment within 30 days after the injection of copper and same improvement of affected lambs wc re noticed.
No toxic symptoms developed on the treated larrıbs except the slight or moder:ıte degree of local reaction on the site of injection.
Average value of copper levcl of blood serum was 112.6 ::;: 5.82 f-lg!IOO nıl. in the
group of 9 healthy lambs in the affected area where as the average value of copper level of
blood serum was 33.7 ::;: 3.18 in the group of 15 lambs affected with delayed form of Enzootic ataxia.
Average value of copper levcl was significantly devat ed (125.7 ::;: 7.21 flgflOO ml).
